We believe in giving back to the places that we live in and love. Through our Sereno 1% For Good Charitable Foundation, we are able to invest in our local non-profit partners who work to create positive change in our communities.
The RSVP program offers cost-free assistance by local REALTORS® in cooperation with various community organizations and senior centers. The community outreach program, known as REALTOR® Service Volunteer Program (RSVP), provides senior citizens with a friendly visit and free assistance with household tasks during a designated week each year. he annual hands-on effort, usually scheduled for one week in May, is organized by the members and affiliates of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR), the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® (SAMCAR), the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® (SCCAOR) and the Santa Cruz County Association of REALTORS® (SCAOR). During RSVP Week, teams of REALTOR® volunteers and affiliates (professionals who provide industry-related services) visit residences of seniors who request the free service and perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks. Seniors may request to have light bulbs replaced, furnace filters changed, windows cleaned, mattresses turned or new smoke detector batteries installed.
I am an Ambassador to the Los Altos Educational Foundation. The foundation works to raise funds and to provide financial support as a supplement to the resources of the Los Altos School District for the purpose of funding academic and enrichment programs, and improving the overall education of students in the schools of the Los Altos School District. The Foundation was formed in 1982 by a group of parents in search of a way to support the Los Altos School District in a time of financial crisis. Budget cuts and restrictive state legislation (Proposition 13) had created serious financial challenges for the district. This forward-thinking group of parents took the first steps to building a strong foundation for the future. Thanks to their vision, the Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) was established to provide funds for district-wide programs and to make sure every child receives a well-rounded educational experience.
